A breathtaking historical excursion on foot that takes you across the Gold Souk with its charming market atmosphere to the “Heritage House” that symbolizes traditional way of living. Its adjacent neighbor is the first
operational school in Dubai called “Al Ahmadiyad School”, a historical institution showing the beginning of the city’s educational ambitions and efforts. “The Grand Souk Deira” offers besides all types of spices, countless commodities. We continue our journey by crossing the Creek in an Abra, a local water taxi, to see the area and the palace of “Shindaga”, the old governmental buildings of the leading “Sheikhs”.
After a visit to the Sheikh Saeed Al Maktoum House (residence of the grandfather of the present leader of Dubai), a brief walk along the Creek leads directly to the “Grand Souk Bur Dubai” past the magnificent Grand
Mosque in Bastakiya, an old quarter of Dubai established at the end of the 19th century by textile and pearl trading immigrants from Bastak in Iran and is known for its winding streets and restored merchants houses. On
